You must assign an element type key to a user-defined element. The element type key must be of the form Un in Abaqus/Standard and VUn in Abaqus/Explicit , where n is a positive integer that identifies the element type uniquely. For example, you can define element types U1, U2, U3, VU1, VU7, etc.
